You are authorizing Discount Energy Group, LLC to serve as Your retail Electric Generation Supplier in the Local Utility territory of Duquesne Light.

Price Structure

Fixed price until Your December 2014 meter read. Thereafter, the Fixed Rate will convert to DEG’s month-to-month Variable Rate and shall apply and remain in effect until the Agreement is terminated. The Variable rate is subject to change monthly based on the then current electricity market pricing. You will be notified of monthly variable rate changes. The variable price could be higher than Duquesne Light’s price.

The contract price for generation supply charges is $0.0727 per kWh

Statement Regarding Savings

The fixed or variable contract price could be higher than the EDC price.

Deposit Requirements

There are no fees to a customer switching to Discount Energy Group.

Contract Start Date

Electric service will begin upon the first meter reading following the date on which the Local Utility successfully changes the Customer’s account to DEG. This process may take up to ninety (90) days.

Contract Term/Length

The term of this Agreement will begin on a meter read date set by Duquesne Light and will continue thereafter until your December 2014 meter read.

Cancellation/Early Termination Fees

There is no penalty for early cancellation.

Renewal Terms

When the Agreement with us is approaching the expiration date (renewal period), or if we propose to change our terms of service, you will receive written notification from us in each of the last two bills or in corresponding separate mailings between 45 and 90 days that precede either the expiration date (renewal period) or the effective date of the proposed changes. We will explain your options to you in these two advance notifications.

The delivery system remains the responsibility of the utility and as such, its safety and reliability is unchanged. In the event of an electricity and/or gas related emergency, such as an electric outage, You should immediately call Duquesne Light.


Disclosure Statement

THIS STANDARD SERVICE AGREEMENT (“Agreement”) will authorize Discount Energy Group, LLC (“DEG” or “Supplier”) to serve as the Customer’s retail electricity supplier in the Electric Distribution Company (“EDC”) territory of Duquesne Light. The services provided by Discount Energy Group to the Customer are governed by the terms of this Agreement and any Terms and Conditions attached hereto.

Background

Discount Energy Group, LLC is licensed by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PPUC”) to offer and supply electric generation services throughout Pennsylvania. Our PPUC license number is A-2010-2199551.

Generation prices and charges are set by DEG. The Public Utility Commission regulates distribution prices and services. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulates transmission prices and services.

You will receive a single bill from your Electric Distribution Company for both its charges and for DEG’s charges.

Right of Rescission - You may cancel this agreement at any time before midnight of the third business day after receiving this disclosure. To rescind this Agreement, please call DEG toll-free at 800-282-3331, email us at customerservice@discountenergygroup.com or write us at the address below.

Definitions:

  • Generation Charge - Charge for production of electricity.

· Distribution charges -Basic service charges for delivering electricity over the distribution system to the home or business from the transmission system

· Transmission Charge - Charge for moving high voltage electricity from a generation facility to the distribution lines of an electric distribution company.

· Initial Term – The period by which you agree to purchase your electric generation service from Discount Energy Group, LLC (“DEG”) at the rate disclosed below.

Terms of Service

1. Basic Service Prices – Your initial contract price for generation supply charges is $0.0727 per kWh fixed from your first meter read with DEG until your December 2014 meter read. This fixed contract price includes electric Generation Service Charges, Transmission Charges and Estimated Total State Taxes including Gross Receipts Tax, but excludes applicable state and local Sales Taxes. Before the expiration of the initial fixed rate term you will receive the 2 advance notifications, if you do not respond to these 2 advance notices you will be billed based upon a variable rate after the conclusion of the initial term, the variable rate will continue on a month to month basis and you may cancel the variable rate at any time with no penalty. The variable contract price will be adjusted monthly based on conditions in the wholesale electricity markets. The fixed and or variable contract price could be higher than the EDC price.

2. Right of Rescission – The Customer has the right to cancel this Agreement at any time before midnight of the third business day following receipt of the disclosure statement. You may cancel this Agreement by contacting DEG in writing, orally via telephone, or via email at customerservice@discountenergygroup.com

3. Length of Agreement – The term of this Agreement will begin on a date set by your Electric Distribution Company and will continue thereafter until Your December 2014 meter read, hereto known as the “Initial Term.” Electric service will begin upon the first meter reading following the date on which the EDC successfully changes the Customer’s account to DEG. This process may take up to ninety (90) days.

4. Penalties, Fees and Exceptions – There is no penalty for early cancellation.

5. Billing and Payment: You will still receive one monthly bill from Your EDC for the Supply Service provided by DEG and the Distribution Service provided by its EDC. You will continue to pay Your EDC directly in accordance with their billing terms and policies. Residential customers have 20-days from the transmittal of your bill to make your payment. You should direct any questions regarding the bill to Your EDC. See “Contact Information” below for EDC contact information.

6. Cancellation Provisions – This Agreement may be canceled for the following reasons: (i) non-payment: if your electric service is terminated by your Electric Distribution Company, then this Agreement is cancelled on the date that your service is terminated. (ii) company-initiated cancellation: if we cancel this Agreement for any reason other than customer non-payment, we will follow applicable rules in providing notice to you. (iii) customer-initiated cancellation: The Customer may cancel this Agreement by written notification to DEG at least thirty (30) days prior to the intended cancellation date. The cancellation will not become effective until the Customer’s EDC successfully switches the Customer to the new service provider of the Customer’s choice. Until that occurs, the Customer’s obligations under this Agreement remain in full force and effect. The Customer shall be obligated to pay for the electricity provided by DEG according to this Agreement prior to the effective date of any cancellation. Upon cancellation of this agreement, the Customer will be returned to the default electricity supply service or to the service provider chosen by the Customer. Please see the PENALTIES, FEES AND EXCEPTION Section of the Terms and Conditions for any early cancellation fees.

7. Renewal Provision / Agreement Expiration / Change in Terms – If you have a fixed term agreement with us and it is approaching the expiration date or whenever we propose to change our terms of service in any type of agreement, you will receive two (2) written notifications from us between 45 and 90 days before either the expiration date or the effective date of the changes. We will explain your options to you in these two advance notifications. See Section 1 for rate change information and process.

8. Dispute Procedures – You can contact us through our toll-free number or via our website as outlined below with any questions concerning our terms of service. You may call the PUC if you are not satisfied after discussing your terms with us.

Terms of Service

THIS STANDARD SERVICE AGREEMENT (“Agreement”) will authorize Discount Energy Group, LLC (“DEG” or “Company”) to serve as the customer’s retail electricity supplier in the territory of Duquesne Light (referred to as “EDC”). The services provided by DEG to the customer are governed by the terms of this Agreement and any attachments hereto.

BACKGROUND : We at DEG are licensed by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (“PPUC”) to offer and supply electricity service in Pennsylvania. Our PPUC license number is­­­­­ ­­­­­­­“A-2010-2199551“. DEG will supply all the electricity that the Customer needs for its home or business (“Supply Service”). DEG is a retail supplier of electricity and is not affiliated with the Customer’s Electric Distribution Company (“EDC”). You will receive a single bill from your EDC. Your EDC will continue to provide distribution, maintenance and emergency services and for the electricity supplied to you by DEG and DEG will include charges for supply services on your bill. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (“PPUC”) regulates distribution prices and services from your EDC. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulates transmission prices and services.

RIGHT OF RESCISSION : Customer has the right to cancel this Agreement at any time before midnight of the third business day following receipt of the disclosure statement. To rescind this Agreement, please call TOLL FREE, write DEG at the address provided, or email us.

LENGTH OF AGREEMENT : DEG will begin providing Supply Service under this Agreement when the EDC switches the customer’s account to DEG (“Switch Date”). The purpose of this Agreement is for the customer to authorize a change in your Electricity Supplier. This Agreement shall be in full force and effect from the Customer’s Switch Date until your December 2014 meter read. The agreed upon fixed rate shall be applicable to this Initial Term. Any renewal prices and terms will be addressed in the required advanced notices, two of which will be sent between 45 and 90 days before the expiration date.

TERMS OF SERVICE – The fixed price for the term of this Agreement will be 0.0727 cents per kWh. The Initial Term beginning on the Switch Date, which is the next meter dead date after the EDC processes your enrollment. Your switch to DEG as your electric supplier may take up to ninety days (90). Your rate includes generation charges and transmission charges, estimated current state taxes, including current Gross Receipts Taxes; but excludes applicable state and local sales taxes.

BILLING, PRICING AND PAYMENT : You will continue to receive a single bill from your EDC, which will continue to provide distribution, maintenance and respond to emergencies, and for the electricity supplied to the customer by DEG. You will continue to pay your bill as directed by your EDC in accordance with your EDC’s payment policy.

PENALTIES, FEES AND EXCEPTIONS: There is no penalty for early cancellation.

RENEWAL NOTICE AND NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES: If a customer has a fixed term Agreement with us and it is approaching the expiration date (renewal period), or if we propose to change our terms of service, you will receive written notification from us in each of the last two bills or in corresponding separate mailings between 45 and 90 days that precede either the expiration date (renewal period) or the effective date of the proposed changes. We will explain your options to you in these two advance notifications.

EMERGENCY : In the event of an emergency such as a power outage, the customer should call its Local Utility as outlined below.

ASSIGNMENT : DEG reserves the right to assign the Supply Service to a licensed EGS. You will be provided a 30-day notice prior to DEG assigning this Agreement. Customers may not assign this Agreement.

CUSTOMER INFORMATION AND RELEASE : The customer agrees to allow its EDC to release certain information to DEG that will be needed to provide electricity supply to the customer. This may include, but is not limited to, customer historical, service address, and future usage. The authorizations will remain in effect as long as this Agreement remains in effect. Customer authorizes DEG to release such information to third parties, affiliates and subcontractors that need to know such information in connection with Customer’s electricity service. Telephone numbers will not be released to any third party or parties. Customer may rescind these authorizations at any time by either calling, emailing DEG or providing written notice to DEG as outlined herein. We reserve the right to reject Customer’s enrollment or cancel this Agreement in the event these authorizations are rescinded

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS : If the customer has any questions or concerns regarding this Agreement or the electricity supply provided by DEG, they should call 800-282-3331. If the Customer is not satisfied with DEG ’s attempt to resolve the problem, the Customer may seek assistance from the PPUC or request information from the PPUC regarding consumer protection rights under this Agreement. See “Contact Information” below for the PPUC’s contact information.

RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER RIGHTS AND CANCELLATION : The Customer may cancel this Agreement with 48-hour notice, without penalty, as a result of relocation within or outside of the EDC’s franchise area, disability and/or death. Cancellation may take up to 8 weeks or more since it cannot be effective until the EDC provides a meter reading. Customer agrees to remain fully responsible for payment of all purchases made during this time.

LIMITATIONS ON WARRANTY AND DAMAGES : You understand and agree that there are no warranties, either express or implied, associated with the electricity supply service provided by DEG. DEG will bear no liability to you or any third party for consequential, punitive, incidental, special or other indirect damages.

GOVERNING LAW : This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This Agreement is subject to and valid notice shall be deemed to have been provided for all valid legislation and to all existing and future laws, orders, rules, regulations, tariffs and procedures of authorities having jurisdiction.
